Video - FlyFishing with Horse-Flies in Japan

On the 18th and 19th of August, 2012 Went flyfishing for Charr to Toyama Pref. in Japan. In August, There`re a lot of Horse-Flies at streams in Japan and they attack Pepople. I know Hearb oil is an efficient against them. However it is good idea to hide our skin physically as much as possible, like covering mosqito net on my head and wearing long sleeve shirts and groves. This time I was taking 8ft of #4 rod instead of my usual 7ft of #2 rod and bigger landing net to catch bigger charr. But I didn`t go well even though the river condition is good, water temperature`s 12 dgrees C, water level`s usual and clear water. I was using #8-#12 flies but I should have prepared #14-#16 flies to avoid missing bites. It was poorer result than my expection and I thought the other anglers would have fished more and bigger fish. We had an unsettled weather at weekend in Japan. There`re some torrential rain and thunder at some parts of Japan. It was fine in a whole day according to weather forecast at Toyama Pref. But I gave up fishing earlier to avoid being involved in trouble as it started to rain. The houses of last 2nd footage`s one of Historic villages of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama, World Heritage Sites in Japan. I shot videos it on way home.
