The true palmer do not have hair in the lower body and that palmer fly pattern has the same characteristics of the true palmer.

Steps

Step 1

On a hook long shank, tie a foam strip.

Step 2

In the same point, tie a rooster's hackle.

Step 3

Again in the same point, tie three peacock herls.

Step 4

Twist the peacock herls and wrap them around the shank of the hook. Come near the hook eye, tie the herls and cut surplus.

Step 5

Holding the foam strip on the horizontal plane, wrap around it the roosters hackle. When the winding turns of rooster exceeds the length of the shank of the hook, reverse the foam strip forward, over the herls body.

Step 6

Tie the foam strip near the eye and cut hackle surplus.

Cut also the foam surplus.

I tie the final knot.

With markers of different colors, I paint the palmer.
