The salmonids at Heidarvatn include Atlantic salmon, brown trout, char, and the highly sought-after sea trout. The fly fishing offered by Heidarvatn is a blend of lake and river fishing. In the lake, anglers can catch all four salmonid species present. Many very large fish have been caught in both the lake and river, creating unforgettable memories for every angler. The river system comprises a glacier runoff, with Atlantic salmon and sea-run trout traveling through and up the tributary that flows into the lake, passing through a breathtaking gorge. Here, anglers can catch Atlantic salmon, sea-run trout, and large brown trout. With the right timing in the season, the river system also offers excellent dry fly action for large browns in its upper reaches.
The Riverside Lodge comfortably accommodates seven anglers with five separate bedrooms, two of which have en-suite bathrooms. The living room features a cozy fireplace to warm you up after a day spent outdoors. From the dining room, guests can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the valley and the lake.
The lodge is located in close proximity to both the river and lake. Additionally, there is a charming outdoor fireplace set up between the river and the lodge, enhancing the outdoor experience even further.
