As just one example, to try Ver más...Sometimes I have asked myself where I find the ideas to make artificial flies and the answer is that I continue to draw inspiration from my patterns. This is because I have the belief that each pattern can be improved and I like to try any idea that goes through my head. As just one example, to try to win the proverbial unpredictability of the grayling, I am constantly searching for dressing that allow to create small and slender imitations of Midge in quickly and easily ways. After I have created the Giuseppina, I saw the opportunity to create a small Midge using a tiny bundle of CDC fibers and two small strips of synthetic raffia.

Hook: grub size 16/18/20
Body and legs: CDC fibers
Chest and wings: Two synthethic raffia strip.
Pasos
Paso 1
On a grub hook I secure two small strips of synthetic raffia.
Paso 2
Above the strips of raffia I fix a bundle of CDC fibers, following the same procedure with which I tie the Giuseppina.
Paso 3
Keeping in tension the CDC fibers I open spiral wrap with the thread around the bundle.
Paso 4
Once I reach the desired lenght of the body, I start with crossing wraps towards the eye stopping to the base of the wings. I trim the excess of the extended body.
Paso 5
Take the two strips of raffia and reverse them towards the bend of the hook, so as to divide the wings.
Paso 6
By securing the strips on the hook, I get the thorax of the midge.
Paso 7
I move the tying thread under the thorax and tie the head of the fly.
Paso 8
Take off the fly from the vise and cut the excess of the raffia wings.
