Canyon River Ranch is comprised of three entities, Canyon River Lodge, Canyon River Ranch, and Red's Fly Shop. Located in the heart of the Yakima Canyon, Canyon River Ranch offers lodging, fishing, hunting, dining, and much more!
While fishing is our true passion, Canyon River Ranch offers many adventures. The surrounding area is perfect for upland bird hunting. We also have an exclusive shooting range for target practice.

Canyon River Ranch is located alongside the famous Red's Fly Shop in the Yakima Canyon. In fact, Canyon River Grill is inside the fly shop! We even have a private boat launch and take out allows for easy access to the Yakima River.
The Red's Fly Shop team is prepared to help you enjoy fly fishing on the Yakima River or on other nearby fisheries. You can take a guided trip, get good advice, or even rent fly fishing equipment or fishing raft. Whatever you need... they've got it!

While we love to guide experienced anglers and show them how amazing the Yakima River can be... we also love to take first time anglers and teach them how to fly fish while hosting them on a guided trip. We take great pleasure into teaching them them how to cast, present a fly, and of course fight a fish! Please know that regardless of skill level our staff is there to guide you every step of the way.
Fly Fishing Classes
The Introduction Series is composed of Fly Fishing 101, 201, and 301. These classes are all designed around three important components, fun, simplicity and value! To sign up, just give us a call and we will get you started on the path to success.Our incredible fly shop and riverside campus is at Canyon River Ranch located 2 hours east of Seattle on the Blue Ribbon Yakima River in famous Lower Canyon. It is 13 miles south of Ellensburg, Washington. The drive is very scenic. The nearest major airport is Sea-tac, but there is a small airport in Yakima about 30 minutes from the lodge.To get started you don't need to have any gear. We supply the fly rods and reels for all of our core classes. All you need is a smile, sack lunch, and enthusiasm! After we teach you how to fly fish, then decide if purchasing a fly rod and fishing gear is the right decision.
